In the ‘new normal', what should my Comedy be like?
There have been days and many days I stopped thinking about it. There have been days I thought a lot, too. At some point I thought I was able to grasp the truth. At some point I thought I lost my entire life.
Sometimes I want an easy-going kind of Comedy. Sometimes a kind without rhymes. Sometimes a kind like a pearl. Sometimes a kind that tells stories. Sometimes a jaggy kind. Sometimes a gentle kind, but as vigorous as young muscles. Sometimes a kind akin to a soldier, tender but robust, and realistic. Sometimes a kind akin to a cadre’s speech, insightful, motivating, and reasonable.
Now I want a kind of Comedy that can resolve a few conflicts between me and others, and between me and myself. I want it to be ambiguous, vague, yet people want it to be unequivocal and clear. Thus, I want a kind of Comedy that has an explicit meaning together with various other meanings.
I want a kind of Comedy without punchlines, without rules, though people love the Comedy that is rhythmic and easy to laugh at. Thus I want a kind of Comedy that is free but with certain rhythms.
